Membership Protection
The NTA focuses on membership protection and promoting ethical standards of the profession. The Association strives to unite members for mutual improvement, including socially, mentally, and physically, while fostering collective and individual welfare (NTA Act)
Meaningful Governance
Through policy and bylaws, the NTA strives to ensure governance that amplifies the voices of members. Members can submit resolutions to amend constitutional bylaws. Resolutions determined by the Legislative Committee to be in good standing will be considered at the Annual Meeting of Central Council each spring.Â
Advocacy and Government Relations
The NTA advocates for quality public education through direct advocacy and government relations. The Association coordinates research on trends in education, national trends in collective bargaining and legislation, and factors influencing public education in Nunavut.
